Contenuto	We read with interest the article by Tarrass et al. [1] which was recently published in Blood Purification . The authors described the extent of water consumption in hemodialysis therapy and potential strategies for water saving. We would like to express our agreement with the need for a sustainable use of resources in hemodialysis therapy and share the initiative taken by a large dialysis chain and manufacturer to address this issue. Fresenius Medical Care is the manufacturer of medical devices including disposables used in hemodialysis and, at the same time, we are responsible for dialysis therapy in many clinics throughout Europe [2] . The vision of a more environmentally friendly dialysis was already identified in our company more than 10 years ago, and today we can reap the benefits of our long-term initiative.
