Contenuto	Through their extensive international networks, dialysis companies that operate on a global scale are in the rather unique position of being able to complement the officially collected registry data with up-to-date estimates from those countries without any current registry data. In this correspondence, we would like to share some results of the 2005 annual global ESRD survey of one such company. In addition to providing insight into global ESRD patient demographics at the end of the year 2005, we point out some treatment trends that have developed over the past years and support these observations with tangible values.
